Welcome
If you are not yet familiar with Jaimeson's story, please click on the About Us tab above for details about Jaimeson's 2005 initial bout with cancer and the incurable recurrence he suffers from now.
If you've been here before and are looking for an update, click on UPDATES on the brown task bar above.
We named this site "Jaimeson's Crew" for two reasons: Jaimeson loves to row crew at WSU, and you all have become part of his "team." We encourage you to click on all of the tabs so you can get familiar with the site, and with Jaimeson.
Jaimeson's Crew is dedicated both to making sure that Jaimeson gets to experience the life events he has always dreamed of, soon, while he feels well enough to do them, and to enabling Jaimeson to participate in multiple clinical trials across the country in the hopes of at least slowing the progression of his cancer. We need and appreciate your financial support in making that happen.
Please forward this website's address to family, friends, co-workers, fellow congregants and anyone else you think might want to help. Just use the website's tool to do that by clicking on the Spread the Word tab above. Thank you!
Jaimeson went to Europe!
Those of you who have been here before will remember that Jaimeson's biggest "bucket list" wish was to see Europe, particularly England, France, Italy, Spain and Greece. Because of the generous donations of family, friends and co-workers, as well as bighearted and caring people we don't even know, Jaimeson, his sister, girlfriend and cousin went to Europe for 25 days in February and March. Some of the Europe pictures are posted on our Facebook page, Jaimesons.crew@gmail.com.
Since that time, Jaimeson's health has worsened markedly. He has struggled with multiple painful and exhausting complications from his growing tumors. One of the multiple blows he has received lately came in the form of cancer surgery in Indiana that he was really wanting to get done being cancelled by the surgeon, because of his compromised condition. Even worse, he lost his eligibility for a clinical trial in the same hospital because one of his current complications makes the experimental drug even more dangerous for him. And this week, we learned that that study has closed, as it has received its 28th participant.
Yesterday, Jaimeson started a new type of chemotherapy in the hopes of shrinking his tumors, particularly the one in his leg, which has grown markedly and is causing a large amount of pain and some rather spectacular swelling in his leg and foot. He also has dozens of new tumors in his lungs.
Currently, Jaimeson is spending time with his girlfriend, friends and family, and doing a little bit of relatively local traveling. As he mentioned in the recent Seattle Times article** in which he was featured, he is hoping to get up in a hot air balloon with his girlfriend and family. Some wonderful readers of the Times have inquired of the reporter how to help Jaimeson meet this goal. If you care to do so, this is the best way to contact his family and/or make a donation toward that experience.
Thank you for caring about our Jaimeson!!
